Listen:
A PRISONER’S LETTER
Chorus: Why won’t you leave me alone, why won’t you let me go home?
I am tired of crying and I’m weak from trying to hold out all on my own
Why won’t you let me go home, why won’t you leave me alone?
I am cold and dreary and my mind is weary with an ache deep down in my bones

Well I don’t know what I should do or even how’ta get outta this place
But I sure hope others will save my brothers from this danger they may face
They say I can’t teach using His name although Yahweh’s the name I adore
So I’ll stay here praying ’cause I’m not betraying my Saviour that is for sure

Chorus

All I did was tell them the truth and the truth’s been known to hurt
But they said my error would lead to terror by making others convert
I pray to be stronger and bold, I tell my doubts and fears to be gone
At the times I’m weakest and the outlook’s bleakest He gives me strength to go on

Chorus

They all take their wrath out on me for I’m hated for the sake of His name
Fear not who’ll kill ya but hold on till ya have a crown of life you can claim
I don’t think I have longer to wait for I see a light coming to me
I’ll miss my mother, my father and brother but at last I will be free

Chorus
