Selling MP3 Downloads

What do I need to sell MP3 downloads?
All you need is an artist account with at least one mp3. To get paid you need a PayPal account (see below).

What can I sell? Single songs?
You can sell single songs as MP3 downloads however they must be connected with an album. If you only have one song to sell, create an album and it will be placed on the site.

How can I sell my whole CD?
Just enter the CD information as well as each song and then upload all of the mp3s. Consumers may purchase just one song, or any number of songs from an album, including the full album, from the CJB site. It is in your best interest to make your full CD available for download.

Can I sell other people's music?
Absolutely not! If you try to sell songs which infringe any copyrights at all we will cancel the account, withhold any sale profits, notify the original copyright holder and take legal action.

What about security?
Our site processes all financial transactions through Paypal. No credit card information is stored on our server.

Financial Questions

Is this service free? Do I need a credit card?
There is a one-time set-up fee of $35 for each album you to sell on the web site. You will be paid 60% of the sales price of any songs that are sold on TheChristianJukebox.com.

How much do I get paid?
You keep 60% of the sales price. So if you sell an album for $9.99 you keep $5.99.

How do I get paid?
We pay quarterly with PayPal, so you need a (free) PayPal account. If you don't have one yet, sign up here. They offer different kinds of accounts, the 'Personal Account' is sufficient. In certain circumstances, we will pay via check in the mail, but you must have a balance of at least $5.00.

My country does not qualify for PayPal payments
Sorry, you need to have a PayPal account to get paid. If your country is not on PayPal's country list you cannot participate.

When do I get paid?
We pay quarterly. The next pay date is shown on your Sales Report page.

Can I set my own sales price?
No. Our prices are set to compete with the market rate.

Where can I see how much money I made?
You can see your balance online at any time on your Sales Report page.

Do I get sales statistics and details?
Yes, you can see your statistics online at any time on your Sales Report page.

Technical Questions

How do I FTP my music?
It's best to use an FTP client such as CuteFTP or WS_FTP.  Set up a new site for The Christian Jukebox and enter the information below:

server address: ftp://media4.gswebmedia.net
username: CJBuserupload
password: cjb123

The username and password are case-sensitive. This means that "cjb" is not the same as "CJB". If you have trouble connecting, try removing "ftp://" from the server address.

More information on using FTP can be found in the FTP Guides.

Who do I call for technical support?
If you need help with the web site, call 1-877-253-8986 or send an email to artisthelp@thechristianjukebox.com.
